New Altar Server Training Dates!

NEW Altar Servers - The last day to sign up for training will be Wednesday, September 2nd (at 3:30pm, 4:30pm, or 5:30pm).  Sign up for a ONE HOUR Sessions by emailing Deacon Greg.  Altar Servers should be in the 4th Grade or higher.


Pro-Life and Pro-Family

Join the Pro-Life/Pro-Family Ministry for Education, Discussion, and Prayer. On September 3rd we will begin viewing Father Robert Spitzer's video series on combatting the Culture of Death beginning at 6:30pm in the Parish Hall.  We are called to live with deep, authentic love and respect for life - learn how we can do this through our prayers, mortification, and ordinary actions of our lives! Sessions will run the first Thursday of every month.


JustFaith

If you are interested in learning about poverty, immigration, racism and more through the eyes of the Catholic faith, then please join us for a JustFaith Information Session on Thursday, September 3rd at 7:00 PM in the Parish Library.  Find out how you can participate in a small faith-sharing group that will employ books, videos, guest speakers, discussion, prayer,retreats, and hands-on experiences to grow in faith, compassion, and understanding of social injustice. Participants form a spiritual community and share a journey of faith and compassion that is life-giving and challenging. Regular weekly sessions begin Thursday, September 10th at 6:30pm. SVDP Friends of the Poor Walk

Join St. Vincent de Paul in the annual Friends of the Poor Walk, to be held Saturday, September 26, 8:00 AM at Our Lady, Queen of the Universe Church. Walk or donate to St. John's conference. 100% of donations to St. John's walkers help the poor in Madison. Contact Steve Moeller (256.652.5270) for more information. Hope Luncheon

The St. Vincent de Paul annual Hope Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, September 25th at 11:30am in East Room 3 of the Von Braun Center. The guest speaker will be Mr. John Martignoni. This annual fundraiser supports the good work of St. Vincent de Paul throughout North Alabama. Guest Seating, Table Purchases and Luncheon Sponsorships are available. RSVP by September 18th. Special Needs Ministry Meeting

The Special Needs Ministry of St. Johns is hosting an ice cream social for all Special Needs Catholics and their families to be held on Sunday, September 13th from 3:00 - 5:00 pm in the All Purpose Room. We meet on the 2nd Sunday of every month during the academic year for fellowship, sharing, caring, and addressing the concerns of our Special Needs Catholic Community. We welcome guests from other parishes to join our group and especially invite you to come to this event as we'll be planning our calendar for the balance of the school year. Wednesday Night Bible Study

Wednesday Night Bible Study begins again on September 16, right after 6:30 Mass. This year we begin with Deacon Dan giving a comparison study of the Four Gospels. This study will go until after the first of the year, at which time we will be studying the Catholic Letters. The Bible Study is open to all who are interested in expanding their knowledge of our Faith. The nursery will be open for those who have small children and wish to attend. 


Senior Ministries Luncheon

Senior parishioners are invited to meet at Grill 29(on Providence Main) for lunch on Thursday, September 10th at 1:00 p.m.  This is our first get together of the year. We hope you can join us.
