Call to Ministry
If you are called to pass on the faith to our young parishioners and able to volunteer during the 2015-2016 school year please call Kathleen Butler at 256-722-7929x109 or email at kbutler@stjohnbchurch.org.  
Please consider the ministry if you have an education background or have past experience. We are in need of volunteers for all ages from preschool through high school age. We are also looking for people who would like to work in the sacramental preparation programs with older children as well as the High School “Life Teen” program.  
There are a variety of times and programs that need volunteers.   We are looking for teachers, aides, parent chaperones/drivers, team members, small group facilitators, lead catechists, resource inventory aides, office/hall monitors.  
All volunteers must have current Youth Protection Training

The  Diocese of  Birmingham has initiated the development of the Diocese of  Birmingham Catechetical Institute for the purpose of providing a program of catechist certification that is required for all who teach the Catholic faith in our Catholic schools and parish religious education programs.  This program offers a comprehensive overview of the Catechism of the Catholic Church in a series of videos accessible through the Catechetical Institute’s website.
