Congratulations to all of the St John’s Crusaders who have qualified for Pop Warner Scholastic All-America nomination!                   Picture of the week Congratulations to the Crusaders Jr Pee Wee White football team for their first round MidSouth Region playoff victory!  The Crusaders defeated the Columbia Titans (Middle Tennessee Pop Warner) by the score of 19-0.  Next up for the Crusaders will be a second round match up against the Chesapeake Knights (Southeast Virginia Pop Warner).  The game will be played at 9:00 (EST) on Saturday Nov 22nd in Greenville, South Carolina.  Good luck Crusaders! Coaches Meetings August 4 1st Coaches meeting Aug 12 All Head Coaches will provide a list of their assistant coaches and the 2008 Pop Warner Volunteer form (with a copy of a government ID) to me (Tony) or the church mail box.  You will not be allowed to coach until this is completed.  Please include the following to me via email: ·         Team Name ·         Head Coach (Cell and email) ·         First Assistant (Cell and email) ·         Assistants Aug 12 Team Manager will need to be selected for your team and provided to Lou Ann Nash (SJFCA Secretary). Aug 12 ALL Head Coaches and at least one assistant coach needs to go on-line and take the USA Football training.   http://www.usafootball.com/pop_warner. A team can not hold practice unless either one is in attendance. Aug 21 All player paperwork is required to be submitted to Lou Ann Nash prior to Jamboree so that your team book can be completed.  As Head Coach you are responsible for communicating to your team what paperwork is missing.  Lou Ann sends out weekly updates to assist you in this endeavour.  You may want to ask your Team Manager to assist on this requirement. Aug 26 The coaching staff must complete Youth Protection 1 training and a photocopy of their card should be in your team binder; No training, no coaching. August 27 2nd Coaches meeting Coaches Certifications   August 4 Youth Protection training (6 - 8 pm) @ St. John's Knight's of Columbus Before: Aug 4th On-line Certification (www.usafootball.com) Note: Coach's training must be renewed each year.  If you are not certified you will NOT coach.  There are NO exceptions!  Dates for coaches certification classes will be posted as soon as possible.
